Medical Front Desk

Job Purpose:

QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES ONLY

Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.

Duties:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties; answering patients’ questions; maintaining the reception area.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
  • Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

Technologist – MRI/CT/US

Job Purpose:

Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.

Duties:

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Paramedic

Job Purpose:

To assist in the delivery of patient care and services to patient groups and their families.

Duties:

  • Assists in performing patient’s medical history, escorting patient’s to the MRI/CT department
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment and answering questions
  • Maintains work area cleanliness, organization and stocking levels
  • Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Obtain and document vital signs and notify others of abnormal findings when necessary
  • Demonstrates and utilizes clinical skills required for patient care
  • Performs venipuncture for testing and blood specimen collection
  • Performs conscious sedations and patient monitoring during procedure
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Follows ACLS Protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, and provides patient care until transporting EMS arrives
  • Demonstrates through behavior, One Step Diagnostic’s core values of integrity, compassion, balance, excellence and teamwork as outlined in the organization’s Code of Conduct booklet.
  • Practices under the Medical Director (or his designee) with direction from the Imaging Manager or Lead Paramedic in performing appropriate, organized patient care in a safe, effective, timely manner in accordance with approved policies, procedures, standards and protocols.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Texas Department of State Health Services Certified Paramedic with at least one year of experience
  • Current certifications: CPR, ACLS, PALS (or equivalent)
  • Must have a working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging procedures and safety related issues
  • Candidates must possess effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional team work with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE is a must

Job Status:

Part-time/PRN. We have ten centers located throughout the area with various hours of operation.
